KUALA LUMPUR: Five students of the Royal Military College (RMC) arrested a police investigation regarding the death of a student believed bullied and abused last Wednesday.
They arrested the police to help investigate the death of Mohammad Naim Mohamad Sobri Mustaqim, 16, is believed to be bullied and abused at the college.
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said the five students, aged 17 years were arrested by the Provost Marshal team from the Armed Forces (ATM) and was sent to the Cheras district police headquarters at 6:30 pm yesterday.
"We will investigate whether or not they are involved in the case and remand detention of the students involved have not been finalized," he told reporters after a monthly gathering in the capital Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Office here today.
Abdul Samah said the police did not reject the possibility of the cause of the death of Mohammad Naim Mustaqim is due to bullying.
"View from the outside of the body in the victim does not have any injuries ... however we will wait for autopsy results from University Medical Center (PPUKM) for further action," he said.
Ministry of Defence statement mentions an incident involving a student death occurred between 11:30 am until 1:20 am Wednesday and Thursday.
Mohammad Naim Mustaqim was found unconscious and taken to the Armed Forces Medical Center (Public) Sungai Besi camp for treatment but died upon arrival confirmed in situ.
Abdul Samah said this year the first such incident occurred, but there are reports that a fight involving universities in Kuala Lumpur earlier.
However, no report received by police from the families of those came from Baling.
